ABVP runs amock in Shivraj rule



Bhopal,June 18,  2012 (HMNS): Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parsihad ( ABVP) supporters turned violent here on Monday and ransacked the School of Studies ( SoS) premises of Vagdevi Bhavan demanding arrest of former contractual teachers.They are demanding action against the teachers for creating ruckus during Executive Committee meeting of VU recently. Opposing the action of contractual teachers, the ABVP workers forcefully closed all schools of studies.


Class III employees also staged a symbolic demonstration condemning the action taken by contractual teachers.

Notably, the turmoil began following the standoff between contractual teachers and VU Vice- Chancellor ( VC) TR Thapak on June 15.

The incident has become a political issue now. ABVP is supporting Thapak on the issue and called for institutional band in whole division on Monday. Class III employees during the symbolical demonstration said the teachers should not forget their limitations as they are the harbinger of academic world.

The ABVP submitted a memorandum to SP Rakesh Gupta seeking action against contractual teachers who misbehaved with Prof Thapak. ABVP regional organizing secretary Vishnudutt Sharma said some political miscreants are behind the acts of contractual teachers and they want to spoil the education.

The memorandum demanded arrest of all 21 contractual teachers who misbehaved with Prof Thapak.

An FIR has been already registered in Madhav Nagar police station against them.

Teachers who climbed over the overhead water tank at the university campus should be charged with suicide attempt case, Sharma said. Teachers who are seen in the video clips should be arrested soon, he added. The contractual teachers act is an organised hooliganism and it was an attempt to derail the education system of varsity, the memorandum said. The memorandum also warned the administration of a violent protest if police fail take action against the accused.

SP assured the ABVP to take action against the accused.

Earlier, all educational institutes were remained closed under the pressure of ABVP. Secretary Deepak Raikwar said the ABVP is fighting for the welfare of students and they cannot tolerate such acts in education system. State Secretary KP Jhala, district convener Amay Apte, Dharmendra Rajput, Vishal Krishnani and others were present on this occasion.

According to sources, ABVP activists in large number entered with raising slogans in Vagdevi Bhawan situated near Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Management and ransacked the premises.

They broke the glasses and mirrors of the entrance while ransacked the hoarding of University Engineering College. They shut downed the whole premises and warned administration to arrest the teachers.

On the contrary, NSUI president Pritesh Sharma, Rajesh Bathli, Students Union Mahidpur president Rahul Malviya and Ambar Mathur depicted ABVPs ransack in varsity premises as a symbol of violence.

They said that ABVP is following the pug marks of contractual teachers as they ransacked in Vagdevi Bhawan which no where shows the pioneer attitude of them towards supporting education system. If ABVP want to support Prof Thapak, they can show silent protest or verbally take any action instead of breaking out the premises.

On being contacted CSP Rajesh Sahay told Free Press that culprits will definitely be punished after investigation of entire matter.

It would be taken into consideration that innocents should not face the dire consequences.

The case will be studied from different dimensions before reaching to the conclusion.
