Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan is leader of masses irrespective of religious, caste, creed and region. Muslim community is also on his radar of progress and development. Like other communities in Madhya Pradesh, Muslims are also getting proportionate opportunities. However, the percentage of literates among Muslims is quite low. That is why they are not getting higher posts in the country and the state. With this in view, Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been urging Muslim community to educate their children so that they can also joint mainstream of development and progress, reports SMS News & Features.

On May 21, he once again  urged members of Muslim community to educate their children. Mr Chouhan was addressing a mass Nikah function of Muslim community under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojna at Sagar. Mr Chouhan said that nothing will happen without education. It is necessary to educate children for their bright future. He said that besides scholarships, the State Government is also providing all the facilities for education like school dress, books, mid-day meal etc.

It may be mentioned that the benefit of various schemes including Deendayal Antyodaya Upchar Yojna, Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojna etc. is being provided to Muslim community in the state. There is not a single scheme of the State Government under which any community has been kept aloof. Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyakak Swa-rozgar Yojna has been launched under which loans and subsidies are being made available to minority community unemployed youths to start their own business. The community members are avaukubg benefit of this scheme.

At the Nikah function, the Chief Minister also made another great gesture. The Chief Minister was honoured by the Muslim community with a silver crown. The Chief Minister handed over the silver crown to the community member so that jewellery can be made of it for gifting away to his nieces at the time of their Nikah. He said that responsibility of maternal uncle is more than that of father; therefore, he should not be welcomed like guests.

It may be mentioned that Nikahs of Muslim couples are also being solemnised in the state under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojna. Sometimes, they are solemnised in the same function with marriage of other communities’ couple and sometimes exclusive Nikah functions are held.

Recently, Marriages of 96 couples were solemnised under Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojna at Sironj. At the mass marriage function, Culture Minister Mr Laxmikant Sharma blessed the newly wedded couples by showering flower petals on them. The Nikahs were solemnised by Shahr Qazi Mr Noor Mian and his ten assistants with Muslim rituals. Addressing the Nikah ceremony, Culture Minister Mr Sharma said that the State Government’s schemes are based on only poverty and not on caste or religion. Benefit of government’s schemes are extended as per eligibility to the poor of all the castes and religions. He said that no society or area can attain development without social harmony. He also presented a Burqa (veil) and a copy of Holy Quran Shareef to each couple.

Besides the Rs. 13 thousand 500 worth household items given by the State Government to each couple, the newly wedded couples were also provided colour TVs, mobiles, blankets, electric fan and steel water tank separately through cooperation of all the sections of society.
