Buildings of over 20 thousand Anganwadis constructed


Bhopal, December 25, 2011 (Ataullah Faizan): The process of construction of Anganwadi centres' buildings is underway in the state. So far, 20 thousand 962 buildings of Angawadis have been completed out of 31 thousand 862 sanctioned buildings. Construction work of rest of 10 thousand 900 buildings is going on. There are a total of 78 929 Anganwadis in the state.


Maximum 1128 Anganwadi buildings have been constructed in Dhar district while sanction of 1662 Anganwadi centre buildings has been accorded. Construction of 534 buildings is underway. In Dindori district, 999 buildings have been constructed and 88 buildings and under construction. In Betul district, 1353 buildings were sanctioned out of which 947 buildings have been completed so far and 406 buildings are under construction. In Barwani district, construction of 861 out of 1501 sanctioned buildings of Anganwadis has been completed while 189 buildings are under construction.

Similarly, out of 1018 sanctioned buildings in Mandla district, 771 buildings of Anganwadi centres have been completed and 247 buildings are under construction. Out of 2294 Anganwadi buildings in Balaghat district, 1097 buildings' construction has been sanctioned out of which 853 buildings have been completed and 344 are under construction. Out of 1182 sanctioned buildings in Seoni district, 737 buildings have been completed while 445 buildings' construction is nearing completion. In Tikamgarh district, 710 out of 1407 sanctioned buildings have been completed and 241 are under construction.

The department is constantly monitoring the status of incomplete buildings in rest of the districts. Minister of State for Woman and Child (independent charge) Mrs. Ranjana Baghel undertakes review quarterly.
