Pachmarhi Utsav gets underway


Mr Sartaj Singh and Mr Pratap Singh inaugurate
Bhopal, December 27, 2011 (Ataullah Faizan):  Six-day Pachmarhi Utsav got underway at famous tourist destination Pachmarhi situated in beautiful hilly terrains of Satpura. Forest Minister Mr Sartaj Singh and Minister Incharge of Hoshangabad district and Minister of State for Farmers' Welfare & Agriculture Development Mr Brijendra Pratap Singh inaugurated the festival.

 Forest Minister Mr Sartaj Singh said that Pachmarhi is a historic and religious tourist spot with rich natural beauty. He informed that the festival has been included in the calendar of Madhya Pradesh Culture Department. Efforts are underway to put Pachmarhi on the national and international tourism map.
 Incharge Minister Mr Brijendra Pratap Singh said that Pachmarhi Utsav has gained so much fame that the tourist spot has become a known name in the country. He stressed the need for developing Pachmarhi as a clean and green tourist spot.
 Apart from display fireworks, Puralia Chhau dance of West Bengal, Tandav dance, Parodi dance and Christmas Song were also presented at the inaugural function.
 MP Mr Rao Udaipratap Singh, Pipariya MLA Mr Thakurdas Nagwanshi, Pachmarhi SADA Chairman Mr Bhagwan Das Dhoot, Collector, Superintendent of Police, Major General Mr Ranjit Singh and Festival Incharge Mr Shriman Shukla were also present on the occasion.’
