Bhopal, June 15, 2012 (HMNS): The Congress on
Thursday demanded a case should be registered against School Education Minister
Archana Chitnis for abetting the suicide of a tribal student. Media chairman of the Congress
Manak Agrawal said that the Ministers of the BJP Government have lost their
wits after achieving power and have become indifferent to the people.
He
informed that the result of Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education was to
be declared on June 4 at 5 pm and, due to this, thousands of students gathered
at the Board office campus in order to see their results of Class X. But they
had to wait for around two hours for the arrival of the Minister.
Agrawal said that, during the
two-hour wait for Chitnis’ arrival, a tribal girl was informed that she had
failed in the exams and, upon returning home, she committed suicide. She had
been misinformed. The Congress Media chairman said, “If Chitnis would have come
on time at the Board office to declare the results, this incident would not
have taken place. The tribal girl had passed the exam in second division.”
Agrawal has demanded a case
should be registered against the Minister as it is because of her delay in
arrival that the student committed suicide.
