Silent march against rising crime in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal,June 18,  2012 (HMNS): Protesting the rising number of heinous crimes in the State capital, the Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress held a silent demonstration in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Old Vidhan Sabha premises on Monday.

The protest was led by Bhopal Lower House Youth Congress president Manoj Shukla and State Youth Congress president Priyavat Singh. General secretary and Bhopal in-charge Pratibha Raghuwanshi and general secretary Kunal Chowdhury were specially present.

Singh said the State capital is facing poor law and order situation as everyday heinous crimes take place but the authorities have failed to prevent such crimes. Police are breaking laws and threatening the common people.
It is evident that the Bharatiya Janata Party is establishing the authority of criminals in the State.
Shukla, while talking to mediapersons, said citizens are not safe even in the State capital. Women get raped and businessmen are murdered and the Home Minister is not taking these incidents seriously, say they are part of the normal course of affairs. Such a statement by the Home Minister increases the confidence of criminals.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should tell citizens exactly what efforts are being made by the State Government to prevent crime in the State.
Shukla tried to give a message to the BJP-led State Government that it should not stay mute over the increasing crime against citizens, especially women.
The Government should understand the gravity of the cases and consider them apolitically. It take strict action against criminals, the Congressman said.
