MP Govt protecting mining mafia

Bhopal,June 11,  2012 (HMNS) The State Congress on Monday alleged that the State Government is protecting the mining mafia and the office bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are also indulged in illegal mining. Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh said it looks like that the BJP has handed over the mineral assets of the State to the mining mafia and this eight-year-long rule of the BJP will be recorded as the worst period for the State.

Singh further said that the Congress has been trying to get the State Government’s attention toward the issue of illegal mining but the Government is giving a deaf ear to the Congress’s pleas and trying to protect the mining mafia as the members and office bearers of the ruling party are also getting their share of profits from the mafia.
Referring to the illegal mining worth Rs 15,000 crore in the Chambal division, Singh said that this incident is a very serious issue and it would seem that the links of the mining mafia are up to very highs within the Government as the local administration is sympathetic towards the mafia. Repeating his demand of a CBI probe of this matter, the Leader of Opposition said that if the Chief Minister is really sincere and willing, then he should order a CBI investigation of the matter and save the mineral resources of the State.
